General Motors’ new self-driving system will let the driver speed down the highway without looking at the road. It’s one of several features enabled by the adoption of machine intelligence in cars.

They're burying the lead here. The real story isn't adaptive cruise control plus lanekeeping. The real story is they want Google Gemini in their cars, so you'll be able to turn on your headlights by simply pressing the Gemini button, speaking your command, waiting for your command to be processed in the cloud, and the car will then be issued the command to turn on its headlights. Or, maybe, make you a sandwich.

Way easier than turning a switch. /s
