Oh yeah, what if it was THIS horse?

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 18 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Well, he DOES look pretty talented.

[–] Aceticon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

To get that photographic level of precision, I would expect more something along the lines of a modern horse using an Image Generation AI coupled to a Natural Language Processor trained on horse sounds.

You mean a million monkeys typing randomly on a typewriter until they happen to write Shakespeare?

[–] Venus_Ziegenfalle@feddit.org 20 points 2 months ago (5 children)

Clearly a photograph of a horse-drawn bus from the 1890's would be black and white.

[–] woelkchen@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Colorized by AI

[–] nexguy@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

It's obviously a modern color photograph of an old black and white photograph from the 1890s.

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 3 points 2 months ago

You raise a good point.

Silly, it's of rich people shit. They had color photography far before all the plebeians.

[–] Ferk@programming.dev 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

It might have been horse-drawn in the 1890s with color paint, and years later photographed with a modern camera.

As God's own truth, the horse took brush in hoof and drew this bus.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 months ago (1 children)

As a side note, I’m skeptical that a shrimp could fry rice, or anything else for that matter, since they have pretty tiny hands and probably would have a great deal of trouble gripping cooking utensils or the handle of the pan

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 3 points 2 months ago

Yes, this is what's commonly known as a callback joke.

That particular omnibus seems to be a modern replica:

Some buses of the time period did have a similar multi-floor design. This one is from the 1880s:

And if you look at the reflection in the wood panelling, the photograph was clearly taken by a giant pigeon.

[–] SippyCup@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 months ago

It was taken by the gnome inside the giant pigeons eye. Because you can't see the camera the pigeon would have to be holding. But it does appear as though the pigeon is looking directly at the bus.

[–] 0ops@piefed.zip 4 points 2 months ago

Swanky ride honestly

[–] MyNameIsIgglePiggle@sh.itjust.works 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I think you'll find the horse is being drawn by the bus.

"I'll be your french horse"

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 2 points 2 months ago

I don't think this bus could draw a horse either.

Or take a photograph of it, for that matter.

[–] SlartyBartFast@sh.itjust.works 3 points 2 months ago

Equine Slop!

[–] SuluBeddu@feddit.it 3 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Is that a big pigeon shadow on the top?

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Hmmm... perhaps a pigeon took this photo?

The plot thickens.

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

everything has been a downward spiral since we stopped using glossy wood veneer

[–] yakko@feddit.uk 2 points 2 months ago

Seems better in every way tbh

[–] tidderuuf@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

Has Ron ever looked inside a camera? Some of them have a few horsepower.

[–] Aceticon@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Also one would expect to see a theme more interesting for horses - like, say, grass - in a drawing from a horse, though maybe this one could be more of a social critique, subtly alluding to the plight of enslaved horses.

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 5 points 2 months ago

Believe me, the horses have already had their revenge.
