Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

You seemed to really like the drawing I shared yesterday, and Ive been thinking about getting back to drawing regularly. I used to do daily posts with friendos, do you think that would be too spammy? Idk. Also, if this catches on, I am not fully comfortable with drawing sexual things, even if I am also, curious, so to speak. Idk idk idk

That'd be really cool I'd think and spamming kinda the name of the game here. Daily is nothing to us.

Draw me a sad pumpkin (his wife left him and took the kids)

[–] Zgierwoj@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Sadly I don't have clear sheets on me rn

That is fucking beautiful thank you so much

I sincerly hope this family can squash the beef

[–] sem@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 month ago

Now draw the pumpkin getting a lawyer and hitting the gym!

Here's an idea that's not sad: Can you doodle a happy boykisser picking flowers on a sunny afternoon? :3

I don't think a daily post would be spammy, but it's a lot of work to do something every day. There was a daily "place a pixel on a canvas" post that hasn't been done in a while because the user who used to do it is busy with real life stuff, I guess. So if you want to make it daily, just keep in mind that it's okay to take breaks.

I don't like it but last few days were rough for my weirdo brain

[–] LordAmplifier@pawb.social 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

He's perfect! He's got little paw beans, and he even found two pretty flowers. Thank you for the doodle, especially after some rough days. I hope the rough days will be over soon and that you can be as happy as this little boykisser again <3

It's not that, I just get tired real easy

[–] LordAmplifier@pawb.social 1 points 1 month ago

Ah, I get that. I'm tired all the time, too. It sucks :c

[–] Zgierwoj@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 month ago

Okay, tomorrow post will be that, probably, am like really bad at doing routine tbh

[–] BadJojo@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 month ago (2 children)

A depressed chimp watching tv while holding a half eaten banana.

[–] Zgierwoj@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I know it's only the second request, by why both of ya want to see depictions of sadness?

It might have been the very first time I drew a monkey (really didn't like them as a kid, maybe it's uncanny valley thing?) Ive had something else cooking today, so yea, quality is not the name of the game

[–] Slein4273@feddit.org 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Drawing idea: A beachparty cheering away a space shuttle launch at Cape Canaveral

I think daily posting is not to spammy.

[–] Zgierwoj@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Woah woah slow down, that's like 20 minutes of researching what exactly all those words refer to

My specialty are knights and imaginary beasts, and tbh if you ask for anything but that it's not gonna look that pretty, which is fair, but also it's meant to be simple ideas, cuz that's what a doodle is - you want complex scenes then go raise Rembrandt from the grave or sumthin

[–] Slein4273@feddit.org 1 points 1 month ago

Sorry, was just an idea. I dont paint so i dont have the feeling what is too complex for a doodle.

[–] MxRemy@piefed.social 2 points 1 month ago

I'd like to see any Battle Craze! character
