How was it not an apology when he said:

It was never his intention to make light of the murder of Kirk.
That he asks for compassion.
That he's not blaming any specific group.
That the alleged shooter was a deeply disturbed and sick individual.
That he gets why people were upset about his previous remarks.
That he has many friends and family members on the opposite side politically.
That violence is never the solution.
That the people on the right he knows and loves don't send him death threats.
