If you can get your head around it, NixOS is perfect for this. It's what we use at work. You configure chromium to open full screen on a certain webpage, instant dashboard with next to no overhead.

You can even install Tailscale in your Gluetun container and use it as an exit node so you have a VPN while using Tailscale. This is most useful for mobile devices where you can only have one active VPN.

Why is this scary? That's what e2ee is for, so that no one besides your recipient can view the contents of a message. It does not matter which server is used. If anything for a service like Signal, you want a server with high availability like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or Cloudflare.

DumbAssets. You can add inventory, add actions to each then get a notification about it. For example, I've added my 3D printer with a task to clean the x-axis rods every 4 weeks at which time I get a Discord notification.

Most private trackers don't allow a shared VPN like Mullvad anyway. Some do but most don't.
