The power was actually in the driftwood. He just unlocked it at the right tide.

 

One hand, full extension, no hesitation. The laws of physics were consulted and chose not to comment. The prophecy never said the sword would be light.

The field burned the harvest and the crew ate it anyway. Nature's slow cooker, unplanned but effective.

 

The plants above ground are gone, but the tubers slow-cooked underground came out perfect. The Indonesian crew surveying the burnt field turned the damage check into a taste test.

Just my writing style, I tend to overdramatize things deadpan for the joke.

Two households, both alike in dignity, separated by a wooden fence instead of a feud. Romeo leaned over, Juliet leaned over, and the fence did not stand a chance. The epilogue is half ink, half paper, the only star-crossed love story with a happy ending.

 

Up on two legs, paws drawn tight, head turned away. This is not a refusal, this is a statement mid-decision. The pet was never going to happen. The pose was the whole point.
