Forget webp. AVIF is the image format.
(Especially after Google killed JPEG-XL.)
The image format… unless your image is greater than 4K resolution.
For all I know, the 4K thing is misinformation.
According to Wikipedia, it’s 8K resolution for the baseline profile. That’s still bad.
