Why the he fuck am I sitting here, looking at this pic and getting nostalgic about those stupid bulky, power-hungry, washed-up picture producing, x-ray-emitting CRT shit boxes?

Yeah, same. I used a 19" CRT from 1999 to 2009, and just now I almost thought "ah, those were the d...." NO!

The ONLY think I liked about CRTs were that they were durable because of the thick glass, and they didn't fall over as easily as flat screens. Other than that they were objectively worse in any single way.

CRTs can change their resolution and dot pitch, meaning that no matter what you show on it it’s always sharp and in native resolution.They are quite literally not worse in every single way.

I remember getting a 19” CRT one Christmas when the prices dropped significantly - my poor father almost pulled his back out getting it up the stairs into my room.
