The eyes rolling back is a fucking incredible detail. I never noticed it while it was traumatizing me as an 8 year old.
I remember hearing in some interview that due to the nature of the prop they literally only had 1 take, and until they did it they didn’t know if the eyes were going to work like they should. Not like they had no idea what they were doing or anything, but anyone who’s done anything hands on can tell you how load bearing should is. And of course it had to be a very realistic head for such a close shot, so a ton of work had to go into it. Very nerve wracking to do in the moment, I’m sure!
