They refuse to publish modified source code of the kernel with bad reasons such as "it's a private information" or "because China and India are fighting"

I have a Kobo Clara BW and it's fantastic. Unfortunately, it doesn't support my SO's language well, so YMMV.

Just bought a new 7" Libra, my only complaint is the colour screen is lower contrast than a pure black and white

You're welcome. There are a few exclusive books that only show up an Amazon but so far 99% of what I have been shopping for has been available on Kobo.
