"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

OpenAI always wins

Except for the part where they lose billions and billions of dollars every year...

Yeah but it’s not their money. They bleed their investors just as dry as their customers while Sam Altman wipes his ass with pure gold.

OpenAI early investors that cash out win to be more precise.

I don't think uhh. I don't think open AI is winning, at any price point.

I think all their products are being run at a loss.

Funnily enough due to their investments, technically they're now losing.

They themselves placed bets on GenAI being realized.

Just got told we're expected to start doing 100% vibe coding at my corporate software engineer job, the company is also getting rid of all quality testing engineers. Goodbye financial system

Actual vibe coding, or just using the AI to help? They are 2 very different things.

This is persuiing the same model as a gambling machine, unpredictable results in a system which you cannot control and have no insight as to how it works. Skinner box meets code generation.

Burrhus catching strays over here.
