Fuck AI

"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

Technology is a monorail it seems; if we don't get off we're doomed to arrive at the destination.

I would have been fine with "AI" if it was only being used as a supportive tool for getting menial tasks done, but it's implementation in art and coding has made me abhor all of it since it is actively working against us. We need to dismantle "AI".

Here's a drawing of part number 125443-67-553 in the style of Ford Van!

I honestly don't care about the added AI. The only thing that bothers me is that this is taking away resources from more important things.

Firefox is the only other web browser "core" competitive with Chrome... and the organization behind it is investing their resources in... integrating AI?

The effort that goes into making this is not spent fixing bugs or adding features some care about (like HDR video for instancr, or a proper time picker?)
