This is why I wash the dishes in the shower.

[–] everett@lemmy.ml 47 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I tried it, but then my sleeves got really, really wet.

Tuck it into your groin

[–] everett@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 day ago

Thanks for the tip, that's almost as good as wringing them out.

[–] cRazi_man@europe.pub 4 points 1 day ago

Kramer? Dat you?

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (2 children)

How can you even wsh them without rolling up your sleeves? I do that by instinct since it always gets wet otherwise.

[–] Ziglin@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I've had it slip down while rinsing things. :(

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If you feel it slipping you immediately stop and readjust.

[–] lugal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Readjust with what? Your wet hand?

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Dry your hands and readjust

Less time than waiting for your sleeves to dry

[–] lugal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago

Less time but more work

[–] Salamanderwizard@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Then your sleeve is possessed by the spirits of SAS commando who silently rolls down your arm , and before you know it, your sleeves is soaked.

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world -3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Does yours slip down so fast and without warning that you are unable to stop washing before it gets wet? Or is your reaction time just measured in minures or something?

[–] Salamanderwizard@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm usually scrubbing vigorously, which shakes it free sometimes. I mean, what am I? Mr. Perfect? I'm supposed to drop my dish into this metal sink and break it? Sometimes, it happens.

You're a lame turd.

[–] Wizard_Pope@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago

Even if yoz clean vigourously you can feel the sleeve coming loose before it unfolds all the way.

[–] MeatPilot@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Sometimes I get water on my belly when it splashes out of the sink. Water hitting a big spoon incorrectly and doing that water fountain shit onto you. That will cause me to invoke demons with the obscenities I expel.

What a coincidence, I just sat down from washing dishes and my sleeve has pretty much the same exact size wet spot in nearly the exact same place. I suppose I should just crawl into bed and give up for the day but I'd need to take this long sleeve shirt off first and that's a lot of work right now while my wrist is cold and wet.

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Just do the dishes naked ... maybe keep your socks on

[–] WagnasT@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Same life hack as cooking bacon and don't want grease stains on your shirt.

[–] gravitas_deficiency@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Small grease splatter burns heal, usually.

Grease stains can come out, if you remember to treat it, and then check before drying it to make sure it doesn’t need more spot treatment. So you’re gonna forget and have grease stains on your shirt.

[–] kreekybonez@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago

so my socks can get wet? I don't think so

[–] joyjoy@lemmy.zip 7 points 1 day ago

This is why I always wear short sleeves, even when it's freezing outside.

[–] Thedogdrinkscoffee@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago

Look at Mr. Humblebrag with his fancy dishes and shirts and running water. Ohhhh, so fancy. La-di-dah!

[–] BurnedDonutHole@ani.social 4 points 1 day ago

This is up there after the socks getting wet...

[–] Saapas@piefed.zip 2 points 1 day ago
