Today we have a new poster Bob, coming in fast and furious on comms across the spectrum...

Ooh! It seems 'King' tried to pull the 'women bad' card, and I just don't think that'll work out for him...

I agree Cotton, it's a bold strategy. See if it pays off for them.

When I see something like this, I just assume that the poster is a pedo worshipping conservative clown that thinks Joe Rogan is the height of intellect and washing your own ass is gay.

Especially considering that meanwhile in actual reality, men and especially white men, are the biggest pearl clutching fucking babies on the internet right now.

Whenever I disagree with someone online I also call them pedophiles, it makes me feel better about myself even though I am thoroughly incapable of any form of self-reflection of rational thought.

Oh God it's starting. Did someone post about Lemmy on Facebook?

See also: internet men any time someone uses the phrase “toxic masculinity.” I don’t think I’ve seen it come up a single time without dudes getting Big Mad (and ironically listing a bunch of shit that shows how terrible toxic masculinity is for men with zero self awareness)

How about when someone says women's place is in the kitchen? Do you also get Big Mad?

An interesting point, to some extent I think that response can be strongly correlated to generational lines. Those of us born not of this century can be a bit curmudgeonly and take it as an attack on the self rather than seeing it for the impact on society.

The phrase 'man up' has a different connotation when it was instilled from a young age to mean 'be strong' rather than being seen as an isolationist closed off mindset.

It takes time, even for those willing to learn.

I had never seen this happen, but my experience might be just different from yours.

If you doubt it, can you provide any link to this happening on social media? If you are that sure about it, it should be easy for you.

Half of the people online are women (and they're not all mature, sensible grandmas but also Karens and silly teens) and the West as a whole has an allergy to personal responsibility... add those two things and you understand why some female spaces are simply toxic and unfit for any deep, personal discussion that could end in disagreements. It's really no crime (and women aren't out there raping and murdering!) but you have to remember this so you're not shocked/displeased.
