Teenager: 😧

Its so old the references go right past them but give them something to look up if they want to feel like they know something others their age dont, and if not you just enjoy the funny scenes and the funny movie that has actual humor instead of "well that just happened" quips.
It’s shaggadelic. Simple as.
I don’t know whether this is serious or comically self-aware, but either way, this is a great take.
Both my Gen-X self and my Gen-Alpha kid are amused, though neither of us knows what the other finds funny.
My two cents is it’s just a damn good movie that holds up.
It's a parody movie that stands on its own, even if you don't know anything about what's being parodied. It has a legit plot and character writing that could hold up decently well, if all the parody were removed.
They like it because it's groovy, baby
Doesn't the 6-7 meme come from a Skrilla song that someone added to a basketball video and uploaded to TikTok and now all the kids have gone nuts for it? I don't think it actually spawned from Austin Powers and the kids are just posting up anything that has 6-7 in it for uptocks or whatever they get on there.
You aren't wrong, but this is a shitpost.
Let them know it's a line in Don't cry for me, Argentina. I wish to see the chaos.
child trauma these movies have caused me

Where were you when you heard that the president was shot?
Where were you when you heard that the towers fell?
Where were you when you heard someone shout “Geht en mah bel-ley!” for the first time?
These are the questions that shaped generations.
Where were you when they built the ladder to heaven?
