@Bronstein_Tardigrade@lemmygrad.ml @bubblybubbles@lemmy.ml It may have the most cameras per square mile, but the US has absolutely nill data protection laws (that actually work in any meaningful way), so they end up having "better surveillance" because they put the data together to spy on you better.
Luckily, I live in neither.
TikTok bad because Chinese spyware. Anyway brb time to check my Gmail inbox.
Doubt.
Mass surveillance is disliked by all.
Making it a political post is low effort.
No it ain't. Plenty of people cheer on cameras being installed anywhere and everywhere as long as you say it's to stop criminals, Mexicans, or Mexican criminals.
I think you are giving the "I have nothing to hide" crowd too much credit
Everybody willingly carries a recording device with sound video and GPS tracking in their pockets at all time. Worrying about any kind of surveillance is pointless if you dont leave your ph9ne at home every day.

It's not quite as simple as that. The overall point has truth, but one can still use a phone and reduce surveillance, especially if you're just trying to avoid surveillance capitalism or police surveillance at certain times (e.g. protests). Privacy isn't binary. Security isn't binary.
You need to be banned for make me see the face of this piece of shit.
