The way I see it, if all centrists want is "law/decency above all" then there's plenty of liberalism on the marketplace of ideas. Why would they explicitly choose the fascist (or "authoritarian" if you're uncomfortable with the f- word) leaning right? Especially since that right has its own violence-cheering fringe (that isn't really that fringe, most just prefer their violence to be more institutional and less street, but that's beside the point).
Or is there something in the human brain that yearns to have an outsider, to stomp on its face with your fellow tribesmen, to have loyalty as one true morality
Much better way to put it. While the status quo has recently degraded further into genocide, the root of the problem has not changed. Nor will it change when the crematoriums start working.
