I was curious so I looked it up on a few sites
While a tea made from the plant remains relatively popular, the consumption of the oil can be extremely dangerous and even fatal and should be avoided at all costs.
So that parts says tea is basically OK but oil is bad but the next part confirms how.
However the large doses that are needed to cause abortion have also proven to be fatal for the woman taking it. In one documented case in 1994, a woman who drank just 2 teaspoons of the essential oil over the course of 2 days died from the dose.
Few other sites just said avoid the tea form when pregnant as it could induce abortion. Not sure how reliable this is but must be consistent enough for all the warnings everywhere.
Thats seems consistent with what I read. Maybe big pharma had a hand. The focus on sites was always on the oil being dangerous. I didnt see any data on the tea side dosage or efficiency which is why im skeptical vs pharma data that is plentiful in comparison. Frustrating for those that need an alternative.
