I feel that is implicit on maximising pleasure. To have little treats often, while also keeping yourself alive so you can have more little treats.

If I died tomorrow from an OD I would not have maximised pleasure in my life. Because I would have ended it early.

But if I lived constantly denying myself every single pleasure and creature comfort because 'I need to earn it', I would also not be maximising pleasure in my life.
