You truly are the most inane person on Lemmy. These are really famous and specific pictures of a time people got attacked after doing the actions from the top half of the meme, being attacked by an army for it and then defending themselves. The popular response to the violence from the state is what got something done. If you are not prepared and organized, you die and nothing gets done.
It is a privilege that has never existed. Also these pictures are of self defense, it is not the recommended course of action, once the peaceful methods run the course the state is the one that starts the violence. If you do not respond and are not prepared you die.
