The state of Canada Post for the last year (programming.dev)
 

Saw the news today about Canada Post changes. Though the union wouldn't like it. See that they went on strike. Then I get these emails back to back.

From my understanding, the issue is that the existing supply chain in North America starts in The USA.

For example when Nintendo ships in a pallet of hardware, it gets Tariffed then goes to Canada and Mexico in freight.

What needs to happen (again to my understanding) is that companies need to start importing into Canada directly, which is no easy feat if our ports don’t have the capacity, and in short notice.

For now the result is we get Tariffed on our items by the USA.

I went from Ryzen 1000 to intel 12000 since I need single threaded performance above all else (CAD). Plus it was a steal of a deal.

If Intel ever sorts out their drivers or it gets cheap enough I might for at 14000 chip but no further.
