Interesting how this seems to happen every single time there's a large gathering of Republicans.

i used to work at a gay bar. i can guarantee you that there are a lot of gay Republicans, enough that theres even a name for them: log cabin republicans.

being gay doesnt stop you from being an idiot.

log cabin is , i would say different from closeted. they are clearly in it for the grift; low taxes,,,,etc that the gop enjoys. thiel is gay, but he is very against being "OPEN" about it, even suing people for it, plus he does not want his shady business dealings to come to light.

thats a good distinction to make.

I think you missed a "not" there.

"we like each others butts, and big ole spending cuts"

(god, remember when republicans wanted to project responsibility?)

Obviously not going to name people, but I have it on good (gay) authority that not all gays (speaking for men here) are on board with the whole LGBT agenda, and don't like them all being lumped together. It's not some foregone conclusion that if you are gay you are liberal. There's plenty of rich gays.

And the former head of the RNC, Ken Mehlman, is gay. So that's one name off the top of my head. I haven't thought of his name in many years and have no idea where he stands or if what I said about gays not being LGBT applies to him, not trying to spread rumors or anything.

Kinda makes this whole map feel a little gross. I know everyone wants to believe it's just monsters at the service here, but I'm sure it encompasses a large and semidiverse community. Probably mainly white though, I'm sure.

unironic use of the word

agenda

like all the gays meet and discuss organizational goals

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Well it certainly seems to make me now think that there is some secret conservative meeting of gays to discuss organizational goals...

out of curiosity, what's the LGBT agenda?

[–] Dozzi92@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Poor wording on my part. Probably more an agenda involving "LGBT culture" as a whole. Not suggesting there are secret gay meetings where they figure out how to make the world a more fabulous place or anything.
