Usually because they sold said child to the Fae at some point. Though I don't get the problem, Fae are nerds you can just set them on fire and kick them into a barn because it's funny.

That’s what Disney movies have turned into. Ghibli movies tend to illustrate that children have a stronger awareness of the world around them.
