An interesting number for hotdogs.
We all know you have to buy 40 at a time so you don’t waste either a dog or a bun (unless, of course, you’re using some hotdogs for KD).
So there’s a lot more hotdogs out there.
Also 14 is the fourth Catalan number, so maybe they’re in the titular separatist state of Spain.

Fair enough. I wasn't trying to antagonize you. We're having two different conversations. I was doing a farce of a meme character that attempts to gaslight the other character in the course of an interrogation.
So we can conclude OP is either a spanish nationalist, or not in any region of spain.
That still leaves 1 extra bun and 5 extra dogs, at minimum.
Hot dogs come in 10-packs, buns come in 8-packs. How much of each was purchased to make this happen?
I buy hot dogs in packs of 12, and buns in packs of 12. But they also sell the buns in packs of 8.
