Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Pretty sure Auschwitz was never legal. Falsifying business records 34 times, also illegal. So is statutory rape.

[–] CircaV@lemmy.ca 7 points 6 days ago

And yet nothing will be done about it.

[–] aeternum@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 5 days ago

and? what are they going to do about it?

[–] Bebopalouie@lemmy.ca 4 points 6 days ago

Doesn't matter. Nobody in a position to stop them is going to stop them, so legalities are just so much bluster and wholly discountable. Unless and until the courts grow some teeth for enforcement, nothing will change. You cannot appeal to their sense of right or wrong because they don't have one

[–] C4551E@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 6 days ago

Really? Still pretending the law matters anymore?

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago

As if he would care for anything being legal. He has long past the point, and considers everything legal that he does, because he does it.

And, nothing will change. Because, this administration, and half the country doesn't care about laws, only feelings.

[–] ozymandias@lemmy.dbzer0.com 43 points 1 week ago (1 children)

oh, the supreme court will overturn this legally in a few weeks… all well within law… according to the supreme court

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Yeah the Supreme Court will rule 5-4 that they are legal. The game is to guess who will be the conservative judge who will vote against it so every ruling isn't just 6-3.

A. Roberts

B. Barrett

C. Kavanaugh

D. Gorsuch

My bet is on B. You'll notice that I omitted Alito and Thomas because neither of them have a future that they care about appearing legitimate anymore. They will both be replaced before January 2029. Barrett, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch will hang around obviously, Roberts likely will be forced out as well. Roberts does throw a curve ball once in a while though, so long as he knows they will still have a majority vote

Small change here but they'll rule 5-4 that it's legal for Trump to do and no other president.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 4 points 6 days ago

"Subject to judicial review in future cases."

[–] Captainvaqina@sh.itjust.works 9 points 1 week ago

1/4 of the country are fascist trash.

[–] pennomi@lemmy.world 40 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Cool, when does my small business get its refund?

[–] commiunism@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

When you vote in Hitler like other small business owners

[–] pennomi@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago

I think I’ve been entirely clear about what a shitstain I think Trump is. Not all small business owners are conservative.

Right around when all of us that got fucked by RealPage's direct and ripple effects get reimbursed, is my guess. The timeline is not looking good for either of us. May the odds be ever in your favor, kind stranger.

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 31 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Not legal but we're gonna leave them anyways.

What in the everlovin fuck???

[–] mkwt@lemmy.world 19 points 1 week ago

For 6 weeks or whatever. Enough time that if the supreme court wants to reverse the lower court, they can.

It's pretty common for lower courts to do this if they think the decision is controversial. The lengthy time frame is probably related to the recent trend of supreme court reversing lower courts on various illegal Trump policies.

[–] TwinTitans@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago

We already knew this.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

Yeah, of COURSE they are not legal.

[–] 5oap10116@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

They'll keep doing whatever they want but use this ruling as a scapegoat as to why it's not working
