"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

anyone else dream wack shit when you fall asleep hearing the AI audio post-processing used on youtube by default? open-source android apps don't include a setting to turn it off so here i am having dreamt of incoherent, migraine inducing, shit. yet again

"stable volume" under more settings in the web GUI, any audio stream ending in '-drc' on yt-dlp, for anyone not knowing where to change it.

same goes for facing the AI slop images and "enhanced" thumbnails with incoherent headlines. it's all not surreal and not real. just slop content

Wow, that sounds like shit. I use YouTube to sleep, though on Librefox with UBO and mostly the channel Good Sleepy Knight or longer talks.

Good thing with GSK is that their 7 hour static after 1 hour story seems legit and is, if anything, a confirmation to go back to sleep unless my lights have turned on if I wake up at night and hear it, and chill and real enough that I can focus on it to fall asleep easily again, without being too much to wake me up more.

No, but recently I was having a weird dream, and I thought to myself, "this looks like AI."

When I want to dream wacky shit I take drugs.

You don't even have to sleep, that's the best part

I was recently in hospital for something horrible (I’m better now!) but for the first couple days, I couldn’t eat or drink anything, all that was going in me was IV fluids and COPIOUS amounts of Dilaudid, day and night. I had never touched opiates before, and the dreams and even being awake bits were absolute batshit. The reality disconnect at times was bonkers. It was neat.
