yeah okay well your watchparties are increasingly going to get worse until you too hit your threshold: such is the business.

the rest of the world uses a VPN like MullvadVPN and qBittorrent to "digitally back up media we've already bought". without ads, in better quality, without telemetry, without serfdom-subscriptions. you may like AI offloading your decisionmaking, but keep doing it and you will be codependent on authority for choosing anything in life. what do you want in a cozy moment away from work? it frustrates me to read people are too anxioys to begin to do otherwise and accept the way things are. that's a rant in return

have a nice day, i won't make this into a chain of replies.

this phrasing is biased in a scare-mongering way

no, it's not a monster driving fear into a few true Democrats

it's Democrats with integrity resuming course against oligarch traitors who don't belong in politics after sabotage to the american people time and time again

this is a long time coming and we applaud

full proprietary circle

open-source never dies

I'm one of those hipsters who doesn't use streaming services.

I did, a while ago, but I quit using them because the experience is kind of awful, and I'm happier now for it. I collect physical media and watch it using Jellyfin on my Linux-based home theater PC, and I'm completely satisfied with how it works.

I'm making this video because I am really troubled by algorithmic helplessness, and I feel like corporate-centralized streaming media makes that worse. Maybe this video will encourage someone else to cut the cord and rediscover an appreciation for owning your media and being choosy about what to "watch next". Or maybe I'm just wasting time. Who knows? I suppose, you know, you're reading this description, right?

If you read the description, say "algorithmic helplessness sucks" in the comments. That'll make me feel better.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working on one or more of Android/AOSP-based operating systems, the Linux kernel and its hardening, memory allocators, or Android app development
  • Strong programming skills in relevant languages (in order from most to least common: Java, Kotlin, C++, C, Rust, JavaScript, TypeScript, arm64 assembly, Bash, Python)
  • Need to have enough experience to be comfortable to self direct workloads and submit finished features and fixes ready for review
  • Commitment to privacy and security principles
  • Ideally prior experience contributing to free and open source projects

Salary and remuneration will be commensurate with experience and aligned with industry standards. You will be employed as an independent contractor

picking up the analogue "trend" and being your own algorithm in the indie online is cool

reclaim your brain today

anyone else dream wack shit when you fall asleep hearing the AI audio post-processing used on youtube by default? open-source android apps don't include a setting to turn it off so here i am having dreamt of incoherent, migraine inducing, shit. yet again

"stable volume" under more settings in the web GUI, any audio stream ending in '-drc' on yt-dlp, for anyone not knowing where to change it.

same goes for facing the AI slop images and "enhanced" thumbnails with incoherent headlines. it's all not surreal and not real. just slop content

appreciate all the comments!

keep up the sharing of insights, as US political systems are diffuse to outsiders

okay, are all primaries local to a state and is there any specific ones to look out for that would tip the scale moreso than others? or is there one primary event held across all of america?

government is democratic or authoritarian.

arts & crafts are participatory or not participatory.

AI automation of human thought & creativity is authoritarian & non participatory.

i am reminded that if "social media" didn't devolve we'd have organized and come together to solve (crisis upon crisis) already and politicians would've had a digital polling station and direct communication with the populace.

instead Facebook Twitter YouTube is what it is.

i read that "democrats won everything", but i only understood it as a NYC election where Zohran Mamdani won the post of mayor.

which political elections have happened and which are upcoming?

idk the field, what about JanAI & a Mistral model or LAION model outputing machiavellian biases?

remind me how much we'd not need to have power outages in scandinavia for hours and dig for uranium and expand energy infrastructure if no one in europe would build ai dedicated data centres
