The idea is interesting, but $13/month for one 'mystery' album from an artist you (most likely) don't know feels rather up there.

I think the price make sense because Bandcamp need to share profit between them, the curator and the artist . You also got an exclusive interview and live session
I personally just don't like the concept. Music is very subjective even if the curator is an talented artist and like you said you said its a mystery album that you may not like
$13/month is so expensive though. And as far as I know, there's still no way to delete anything from your Bandcamp library....and the album is automatically added. What if you hate it?? It'll be there forever.

Yep, I went to check it as soon as it got announced thinking it would be a couple bucks for a monthly mystery album. but it's the same price as a regular one. Maybe if could be worth it later when it gets more clubs since you could find one that fits an specific niche. Rightnow the four ones feel a bit generic
Yeah i am not a fan at all . I am satidfied with bandcamp daily.
I don't ask much. Just that you don't ruin Bandcamp.
I am a bit afraid that they would one day kill bandcamp daily and only keep that. I think it is also problematic that they didn't mention compensation percentage between the curator and the artist
Looks like there are currently four "clubs". Each club has an album release every month. Are the tracks all released by the same artists (new material) or do they select current tracks on Bandcamp to feature in their monthly list? If it's the latter, then it'd be closer to humble monthly but it's DRM-free and you get to keep what was available to you when you were subscribed, even after unsubscribing.
I think my ideal scenario would be a spin-off of this idea, where you pay a monthly fee to select, say, five artists on Bandcamp. For the month you would be able to download all of their content, and the monthly fee is split between the five artists. With this it just seems random, but if you are looking for new content, it may be nice.
I’m hoping this takes off!
