Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Huh, when 2 democrat lawmakers were killed they did nothing

[–] ImgurRefugee114@reddthat.com 1 points 1 hour ago

If only it were a classroom full of kids instead; think of how much taxpayer money y'all've saved

[–] not_that_guy05@lemmy.world 38 points 5 hours ago (3 children)

Excuse me but we don't have 88 million to waste when Americans have no food.

[–] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 23 points 5 hours ago

You don't understand they need to be able to dogwhistle somehow. /s

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 11 points 5 hours ago

All we have to do is not care that Americans have no food. Problem solved!

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 10 points 5 hours ago

Feeding people is strong security.

O.M.G.

What the fuck?

I'm sure this was done on purpose.

Just means we need to keep doing it

"They". This was MAGA on MAGA violence. We need to make sure that part of the narrative stays front and center.

I don't support what happened to Charlie. Charlie supported what happened to Charlie.

[–] apenstaartje@lemmy.cafe 7 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

If you don’t support what happened to Charlie, you are a bad person who allowed the world to get like this. The fact is that some people need to not be here.

[–] onslaught545@lemmy.zip 11 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

I think it's fair to not support the act, but enjoy the results.

[–] apenstaartje@lemmy.cafe -2 points 4 hours ago

That’s the same thing. Don’t feel bad about it. These people know the kind of damage they are doing. They know their hateful rhetoric kills. How many people do you think Charlie Kirk convinced to kill someone? Trans deaths are very rarely reported as such. And, the reasons aren’t really documented anywhere for reporting

Shooting someone you disagree with is not right. I'm curious who gets to decide who lives or dies in your opinion, and based on which parameters?

[–] al_Kaholic@lemmynsfw.com 1 points 3 hours ago

Have you heard of this rarely known human Habit called war?

[–] apenstaartje@lemmy.cafe 2 points 4 hours ago

If the intentional message that you are saying on a public platform convince people to hate other people based on things that they cannot change about themselves, then you are a bad person and deserve to die.

Some easy examples are gender, sexual orientation, etc.

[–] mrgoosmoos@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 hours ago

however, shooting someone who tries to take away the basic rights of others is right. that's not a disagreement - that's one side violating the other

you can't fight intolerance with tolerance

[–] FistingEnthusiast@lemmynsfw.com 10 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

I wasn't aware that Mr. Leakyneck held a position in the government

Also, they'll try to make sure that security for anyone other than themselves is slashed

[–] KoboldCoterie@pawb.social 3 points 3 hours ago

Or this will involve giving every government official security detail hand-picked by the republicans, so when they call in Order 66 they know it'll be swift and complete.
