I'm not sure what Fallon dropping out of the Fast Company Innovation Festival at the last minute has to do with anything, unless there were attendees he didn't want to appear with. Seems more likely that he was prioritizing his safety (which is understandable).

Fast Company is like any other business magazine, he might have bowed out because he didn’t want to lend any sense of respectability to a group that probably includes some of the media execs that made the Kimmel decision.
