Not like we have a left with any power to stop them.

Im sure the fascist light(D) party will have very furrowed brows though.

Oh so furrowed.

[–] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 1 points 58 minutes ago

The Republicans already rigged elections with defrancishing voters, making it harder to vote, and gerrymandering districts.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 7 points 4 hours ago

Yes, because when fascists are in control, they do not allow fair elections.

2026 and 2028 will be fraudulent elections. And I'm willing to bet evidence will easily prove so. The question is, will Americans have the balls to do what's necessary after we find out?

[–] Freefall@lemmy.world 7 points 17 hours ago

Yuppers. We are heading down the path that only ends one way. Something something boiling a frog....

[–] WatDabney@lemmy.dbzer0.com 96 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It really doesn't matter if they succeed or not.

The Republicans are no longer even bothering to pretend to be at all interested in fair and free elections. They've signaled clearly that they will do anything to take and hold power, and honesty, integrity and democratic principles count for nothing at all. So if they don't succeed this time, they'll just cheat harder next time.

This isn't some shadowy conspiracy theory - they're doing it openly and publicly.

Fair and free elections in the US aren't under threat - they're already dead. And that's not hyperbole - it's the explicit, official position of the Republican party.

The only direction from here is down.

I started to say something similar, but I doubt I could have typed it as concisely as you did. Agree.

You still think there will be midterm elections? Cute.

[–] Revan343@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 hours ago

Even Russia has elections

[–] LMurch@thelemmy.club 10 points 1 day ago

If they won 2024 in a landslide, why would they need to rig the 2026 elections? 🤔

[–] Gammelfisch@lemmy.world 7 points 23 hours ago

OF course, they rigged the 2024 election process with a fucking minor update. I wish the NSA would reveal what they know.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 27 points 1 day ago

Yes, they already did it. That's why we have to outnumber the votes. They're cheating, for sure.

DeSantis’ congressional map helped the GOP keep the House. Will he do it again?

What also is troubling is, they don't seem to care that they're losing some of their base. They're telling us they're going to cheat. If mail in voting becomes illegal, the fascists have 100% won.

Given that Kamela conceded in 2024 despite Trump openly admitting to Elon "being good with computers".... yeah they will

[–] EightBitBlood@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

Oh you mean how she conceded to a guy that:

  1. Fucked with the 2016 election.
  2. Attempted a coup after losing the 2020 election through defrauding the electoral college.

But yeah definitley didn't cheat for the 2024 election.

Him NOT cheating in 2024 would be a first. But let's ignore that for the sake of naive respect that will immediate be lost when Trump collapses the system.

Betteridge's law says no, but "this is the worst timeline" law says yes.

After the GOP used voter suppression, lawsuits & voting machine sabotage to successfully rig the 2024 election - there will never be another free & fair election in the United States ever again. Until Americans are willing to use their 2A privilege to stand up to this dictatorship it's only downhill from here.

[–] bizzle@lemmy.world 3 points 21 hours ago

Basically every Democrat lawmaker is entirely spineless so they'll probably get away with whatever they want.

Yes.

There is no consequence to their bullshit.

If you're in a red state; blue no matter who might be the vest course. If your in a blue state try and go to primary and vote progressive, do a progressive 3rd party if you have to. We know more about 3rd party voters than non voters.

Voting does matter and its only one part in building out our progressive movement.

They only succeed because Democrats allow them. We allow them.

There are elections going on right now. If you are a democracy loving citizen, volunteer as a poll officer. We need them now more than ever.
