I really wish I was code savvy, I would make a more modern version of Freenet or Zeronet so State's can't ban websites

Technically the current version of freenet became hyphanet, and the new version of freenet is under development.

The core issue is still total users and tradeoff of speed vs anonymity. Not enough people will use it unless it really becomes a core necessity or it offers something better.

No one hosts their websites in those shitty states, so I am pretty sure they are safe from any attempt to shut them down.

There was this article from a bit ago about data centers in Wyoming. Land is cheap so more data centers may open there too.
