So get off of those platforms. Stop giving them that power.

There isn’t going to be some heroic government that will come in and make Silicon Valley and other assorted media owning billionaires suddenly behave like careful stewards of online discourse.

Nothing that they’re doing is illegal, you read the TOS, right? They have no incentive to change. Stoking outrage drives engagement and keeps the money rolling in.

It won’t affect them in any meaningful way. They can just move away if they accidentally tear a society apart.

Private platforms have every right to ban you, even if they just don't like you or your political beliefs. Censorship is mostly happening by the government and systematic media.

And that is why federated platforms are so important. If most people don't wanna see someone's bullshit they can ban him. And he has the right to run his own instance.

Note that I'm not defending Tate here. Many of his words and actions are actually harmful or hateful and he deserves to be arrested.

But there's a line between "illegal/harmful" and "unlikeable" which we need to remember.

Sorta agreed, but the ruling could set a bad precedent if he wins.

I'm sure Trump will see many, many great and fabulous reasons to re-platform him.
