There is no Russian city called Leningrad anymore, but apparently no one bothered to tell Donald Trump.

How can you tell if someone that dumb has dementia?

[–] GladiusB@lemmy.world 1 points 15 hours ago

They forget they are dumb

[–] Plum@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (2 children)

.......... sparks?

I hate it here. Fucker has been riddled with syphilis and shitting himself since the 1980s and we allowed him to take the presidency twice.

[–] TrojanRoomCoffeePot@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Don't forget the child rapes.

[–] Plum@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I won't shut up about it.

I had to explain to my father that, because of the wording of the new york penal code, the only reason that trump isn't a convicted rapist is that the defendant could not assert on the stand whether Donald Trump penetrated her with his penis or his finger. Digital rape is a sexual assault charge. Rape needs a penis.

Are there citations for this? I’m genuinely asking, for context and so I can feel comfortable repeating it.

Edit: I don’t understand why this deserves a downvote. Im not defending Trump. I’m not trolling. I legit wanna hear stories about Trump shitting himself and the signs he has syphilis.

During his campaign last year, Trump thought that Johnny Carson was still alive and available to take back the Tonight Show.

Not a peep from the media or even Lemmy. It was, "Biden senile."

He thinks Hannibal Lecter is real, dead, and a fan of his. He's obviously fictional, neither the character in any media he's been portrayed in or any of the actors who portrayed him have died, and the character's second most well known trait (you know, after the whole cannibal thing) is his absolute disdain for rude, vulgar people, and none of the actors have displayed a fondness for Donald either. His closing message before the election was about how much he loved deceased golfer Arnold Palmer's apparently enormous dick.

His campaign really fell apart there near the end. It was way worse than pretty much everyone realizes. He would just abruptly quit ranting and start dancing to the same song repeatedly.

And it ended up not mattering even a little bit.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago

Which makes me constantly switch between wonder if the voting was really legit, and how dumb this electorate is. Both are depressing and make me want to flee the US.

The president's age was all the news could talk about until Biden dropped out. Suddenly it wasn't a problem anymore.

Also! Inflation and whether or not it was the president's fault, and all the Palestine protests and how Democrats (only Democrats) were facing a lot of heat for their support of Israel. Almost as if our media is corrupted by partisan influences that are trying to mislead and influence people, and it works shockingly well.

Im all for calling out Trump for his senility as much as the next guy, but this is kind of reaching to call a dementia moment...even I didnt know Leningrad wasn't a city anymore. And im in my 30s, far from senile..Hell, I didnt know it was called Saint Petersburg before. And it was only renamed St. Petersburg in the 90s sometime. Probably something you'd only know if you are actually a Russian citizen, or live there.

Or you know... googled it just now and read the Wikipedia article on it.

Edit: Wow, didnt realize calling out an article for its bullshit would be a controversial opinion. I'd ask my mom if she knows where St. Petersburg and Leninburg are at, but I already know she wouldn't know they were the same city...ya'll can stop telling me how common knowledge this is now. I dont care.

Edit 2: just for funsies, I asked my mom (in her 60s btw) if she knew where Leningrad was...she had no idea.

[–] jordanlund@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Most Americans, if you ask about "St. Petersburg" are going to go "Florida?"

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm starting to think it was a regional thing. I went to school when it was still Leningrad, and we learned about Hegel, Marx, Lenin, the Bolsheviks, the Russian Revolution, and the renaming of St. Petersburg. Maybe that's why it stuck more when it was changed back.

Even old New York was once New Amsterdam!
