You must post before you leave

Be nice. Assume others have good intent (within reason).

Block or ignore posts, comments, and users that irritate you in some way rather than engaging. Report if they are actually breaking community rules.

Use content warnings and/or mark as NSFW when appropriate. Most posts with content warnings likely need to be marked NSFW.

Most 196 posts are memes, shitposts, cute images, or even just recent things that happened, etc. There is no real theme, but try to avoid posts that are very inflammatory, offensive, very low quality, or very "off topic".

Bigotry is not allowed, this includes (but is not limited to): Homophobia, Transphobia, Racism, Sexism, Abelism, Classism, or discrimination based on things like Ethnicity, Nationality, Language, or Religion.

Avoid shilling for corporations, posting advertisements, or promoting exploitation of workers.

Proselytization, support, or defense of authoritarianism is not welcome. This includes but is not limited to: imperialism, nationalism, genocide denial, ethnic or racial supremacy, fascism, Nazism, Marxism-Leninism, Maoism, etc.

Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

it's cops so the possibility that they just did it to be dicks is high.

But I agree, hiding ACAB in there is 🔥

Change "your favorite flavor of gay" to "our flavor of gay: rainbow but silent abt human rights and gone in one month"

What's ACAB? I assume it means all colors are beautiful, but is there further meaning?

Edit: all cops are bastards.

[–] BreadOven@lemmy.world 32 points 1 week ago (3 children)

All capybaras are beautiful.

[–] barnaclebutt@lemmy.world 29 points 1 week ago

They are. They really are.

[–] JamesBoeing737MAX@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And cows are brown. We know what the cops would do if they heard that.

[–] BreadOven@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

Yeah. Sadly I know. It's on the brim of my hat, so they know when they see it.

[–] LSNLDN@slrpnk.net 27 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Nope, no other meaning, don’t bother googling it and checking it.

Edit: yeah they really are eh

Nah I was trying to keep you in the world of innocence where simply all colours are beautiful, would have been much nicer

[–] barnaclebutt@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Ah, I misunderstood. My apologies. All colors are beautiful (and capybaras).

[–] Trainguyrom@reddthat.com 3 points 1 week ago

I thought for too long it was "assigned cop at birth" when I first started seeing ACAB pop up all over the internet

[–] InvestBurnout@fedia.io 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

All cops are bastards (bad)

[–] guynamedzero@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Wait what???? I always thought it was assigned cop at birth, meaning they’ll always act like a cop. But that make more sense

[–] Rusty@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 week ago

ACAB is much older than the assigned at birth expression. It was very popular in punk circles in the 80s (check out this song by the 4skins https://m.soundcloud.com/the4skins/a-c-a-b-bumper-sessions )and some sources claim it was first used in 1920.

[–] Gladaed@feddit.org 27 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Probably just a coincidence

[–] bdonvr@thelemmy.club 50 points 1 week ago (2 children)

It's a coincidence if the cops ask

[–] Gladaed@feddit.org 6 points 1 week ago

Why? A colors are beautiful is a nice slogan in its own right. It's just a nice rhyme scheme. And fits.

[–] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 26 points 1 week ago

Just a happy little accident.

[–] infinitesunrise@slrpnk.net 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Cops are generally not that smart, but I suspect that this was more a misguided attempt to "reclaim" ACAB than it was a sneaky troll. Still hilarious.

[–] QuinnyCoded@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

I disagree. I imagine it got snuck in, but the cops saw it and thought it was funny. The "Spartanburg Police" song is really popular with cops for the same reason

[–] HailSeitan@lemmy.world 11 points 1 week ago

From 2023 but still a classic

[–] anonymous_in_atl@ani.social 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Remember, if you know who shot those ICE pigs in Dallas: No you don't.

[–] hildegarde@lemmy.blahaj.zone 24 points 1 week ago

The shooter shot three detainees and them himself. The shooter did not shoot the pigs, nor is anyone asking about his identity because he's already been found.

I always love her appearances on Behind the Bastards and do enjoy her own show.
