When they keep firing more questions to try and get a respomse from me they are actually just breaking me.

I also can not deal with 2 people talking to me at the same time.

If you want a decent answer give me an hour to go through my windows 98 boot up, take a bit for the hard drive to get going.

Yes, as soon as you wake up means before 1030 regardless of how much coffee I've had

Bruh imagine being woken up by a phonecall (night owls will relate)

[–] papalonian@lemmy.world 10 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

My company sells and services industrial equipment, we used to have a 24/7 phone line we had to answer. People would call us at like 2am to try and diagnose the most obscure shit imaginable, the answer they'd get is "hmmmrrebblle. Uuhhrm. YeahIthinkIknowwhatthatmightbeuhhhh... Gimme just a sec..."

This is the one time i agree with outsourcing, get someone who is awake at that time to deal with it.

[–] papalonian@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Yeah, unfortunately it's a pretty specialized field. The company is less than 20 people, and the amount of people that were on those calls was less than 10.

We just have 2 people that are salaried to deal with it, now, so not my monkey, not my circus.

Industrial weighing/packaging equipment.

I have to be oncall sometimes, and my teammates know that when they hear "kburgugh", that means I'll be online in a few minutes

[–] SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml 1 points 19 hours ago

Yeah, they are actively talking to me as my brain is booting. At least they're the first ones to talk on the call, so you have at least that time to gain your bearings

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 1 points 20 hours ago

Same feeling every time whether it's at 2 am or 2 pm (my circadian rhythm lasts 26 hours so I can either... I forget whether I'm always gaining an hour or losing two or the other way around I'm so godsdamn tired)

Your majesty, your chariot awaits.

[–] chelatna@sh.itjust.works 2 points 21 hours ago

I've seen a couple of these mangled cars, and now I'm wondering who made them?

This image is as old as time itself

[–] swagmoney@lemmy.ca 9 points 15 hours ago

nah it's an old image. it's just a photoshopped Subaru Forester

[–] gerryflap@feddit.nl 0 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Probably, but in this case it fits. If there's anything that generative AI is good at, it's capturing the vibe of that fucked up thing your brain does in dreams. This image perfectly represents what my brain does when I'm just awake or almost asleep. Messing with proportions and unable to form a normal picture of things.

[–] icelimit@lemmy.ml 1 points 15 hours ago

Wait. Does that mean our internal monologue and thoughts are also generated a la the same methods as ai but we just have a fancy "make sense" filter?
