It's not a stimulus check from the federal government. It is an annual check for Alaskan residents handed out since the oil started to flow through the pipelines up there.

The Alaska Permanent Fund (APF) is a permanent investment fund established in 1976, and managed by the Alaska Permanent Fund Corporation corporation. It was created by an amendment to the state constitution. The idea was to put 25% of oil revenues into the fund to preserve it for future generation who would no longer have oil revenue to rely on. The original investment was about three quarters of a million dollars, the fund is now worth nearly $90 billion.

The stimulus check Is the Permanent Fund Dividend check given out every year based on the funds performance. Every year, anyone who has lived in the state for a full year and plans to stay indefinitely is eligible for a stimulus check.

It all sounds surprisingly socialist, for such a red state, and it's a big bonus for people struggling to get by up there. Pity everyone in the nation doesn't get a dividend check from big oil companies.

"Donald, thanks for the compliment! Let’s not lie to the public, you and I both know you have no authority to take over Chicago. By the way, where are the Epstein files?" Pritzker wrote on X shortly after the remarks.

“I have directed my Team to fire this Biden Political Appointee, IMMEDIATELY,” Trump said on social media Friday, accusing her, without evidence, of politicizing the jobs report. “She will be replaced with someone much more competent and qualified. Important numbers like this must be fair and accurate, they can’t be manipulated for [any] political purposes [other than my own].”

He then added, "Thank you for your attention on this matter!"
