I always thought i was left, but seeing how a lot of people on the left gleefully react to someone’s assasination makes me wonder if i’m actually left.

I don’t mourn Benito Mussolini's passing, i never liked him. But i certainly don’t celebrate his murder either. Anyone who does should be put in a mental asylum as far as i’m concerned. They certainly have mental health problem

Comparing Charlie Kirk to Mussolini…

Yeah, i stand with my comment. You need better mental health care.

Someone with more time than me could easily do an entertaining mashup of Kirk and Mussolini quotes

How many people did Charlie order to kill? Since when was he the dictator of America? Please do enlighten me, because clearly you know so much more then i do…

Charlie's job was propaganda. He laundered the fascist ideology into mainstream discourse. If my coworker said some of the awful shit Charlie said, I'd just think he was a racist piece of shit, but I wouldn't celebrate his murder (nor would I mourn it). But Charlie had an audience of millions, and was paid handsomely to spread his fascist propaganda. I opened my nicest bottle of scotch when I heard the news.

Then you are just as bad as Charlie was. You just don’t have the same amount of followers.

[–] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 6 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I don't give a shit what you think of me.

[–] johannes@lemmy.jhjacobs.nl -1 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

That goes both ways, don’t worry.

[–] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 2 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

That makes you just as bad as Charlie Kirk 🥸

In what world is celebrating someone’s assasination the same as not giving a fuck about someone's opinion?

No wait… don’t answer that. I don’t even care how your weird brain works.

[–] electric_nan@lemmy.ml 1 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

It's the exact same thing, sweaty. All things are the same. Every person is the same. Every opinion is the same. Every death is the same.

Well yes, i suppose in your brain they are. Thankfully, in the real world things are different. Good day to you.

You've taught me this lesson only several comments ago. My eternal gratitude for this impartment of zen-like wisdom.

Show me a Charlie Kirk in charge of a country and I'll show you Benito Mussolini.

[–] johannes@lemmy.jhjacobs.nl 0 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

You’re proving my point. Charlie was never in charge of a country, so you can’t possibly compare him to Mussolini.

Charlie was never in charge of a country, so you can’t possibly compare him to Mussolini.

Holy cognitive dissonance, Batman! That means there's nothing comparable? So, which one was the human, and which one was the golfball?

You can't compare hate-spewing fascists because they because they weren't the same RANK!

I'm honestly impressed; you've surpassed Mental Gymnastics and created Mental Parkour.

How many people did Brian Thompson directly execute? Do you also argue his hands were clean?
