How do you know you've seen enough when you admittedly haven't even seen clearly? Perhaps need to keep cleaning the glasses? Or is there another meaning I don't understand?

So the implied meaning is to have seen enough of war and corruption or whatever else so the glasses are not getting cleaned for the last bit of sanity to remain
