Not always, considering that fighting with moderate liberals to vote for Mamdani in NYC is shaping up to be a struggle.
People are often stupid regardless of ideology. The point is to ensure that it's understood that purity-testing in the face of literal fascism is both immoral and socially unacceptable. It's something that has to be pushed in the broader civic culture, not just where on a political axis you align.
It's not something that's 'inherent' to leftism or not inherent to liberalism.
