  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

But as photos and social media posts surfaced showing Sanford in a camouflage Trump 2020 shirt that read “Make Liberals Cry Again,” and a Trump-Pence sign still visible on his front lawn just months ago, the political implications became harder to ignore.

So far, Republican leaders have said nothing.

So far, Republican leaders have said nothing.

That's surprising. Usually when conservatives intend to do jack shit about any situation, they offer a prayer with a contrived air of empathy on their gormless faces.

If they're not praying for something or other, it would indicate that they might want to do something useful instead for a change... But I'm not holding my breath.

Trump has. He posted about how "they" are attacking Christians iirc (at first it was radical leftists, then he posted again with more ambiguous language, I think). Interesting, most Christians don't consider Mormons part of Christianity- and Kirks murderer was raised Mormon. Trump helped amplify fear mongering with that, too, so. Gee, I wonder why a Mormon church was targeted by a Trump supporter?

Won’t be long till there is Christian denomination infighting going on in the MAGA world. A good chunk of them are all ready blaming Israel for Kirk’s death as well as Mormons. I always knew this is what would happen eventually since Christians hate other Christians almost as much as they hate gays.

The minute they squelch trans and gay rights, and bring back Jim Crow, they will be right back at each others' throats, casting the other groups out as heretics and "pagans" and "cult members", etc....there are approximately 45,000 denominations of xtianity - which one is the One True Xtianity?

[–] leadore@lemmy.world 6 points 17 hours ago

Yep. I've always said if/when they finally get their beloved Theocracy, there will immediately be massive sectarian violence.

I like that word.

gormless /ˈɡôrmləs/ adjectiveinformal•British English lacking sense or initiative; foolish. "a constantly grinning, rather gormless boy"

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 minute ago

Why isn't "gormful" a word

Gornless and gobsmacked nonce enablers

You know, there's probably a universe with a "Wallace and Gorm" show.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 2 points 20 hours ago

They are not praying for members of the LDS. They might pray for the shooter, though. After all, he is one of them.
