But as photos and social media posts surfaced showing Sanford in a camouflage Trump 2020 shirt that read “Make Liberals Cry Again,” and a Trump-Pence sign still visible on his front lawn just months ago, the political implications became harder to ignore.

So far, Republican leaders have said nothing.

These libs are crazy the way they go deep undercover as lifelong conservatives

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 6 points 1 hour ago

Whose broadcast license is the MAGA FCC secretary going to threaten over this one?

[–] merdaverse@lemmy.zip 27 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

When is MAGA getting designated as a domestic terrorist organization?

[–] Qwaffle_waffle@sh.itjust.works 14 points 6 hours ago

When the victors write history...

S'ok it's one of their own.

Malsocialized whiteboi pass.

When enough of them grow up awkward because they've been tweaked out the ass on 4chan, social media outrage algos, and pedo-adjacent anime, their mothers think something is wrong with society.

Nope. Society works fine for lots of people. No one told you to raise an awkward fucking basement predator.

But then white guy pass comes along and it's "muh raaaaycee" must save "muh raaaaycee"

When you were cranking your 3 incher to anime porn for decades you weren't thinking about your race then

Not silent, I had someone freaking out in my office today saying "dammit! Hes one of us!" with the most disdained look on his face. People died and dude is only talking about how its once again his team that did it.

[–] spaghettiwestern@sh.itjust.works 65 points 19 hours ago

Translation: "Dammit, we can't use this as an excuse to start our Maga Civil War. I hope we have better luck with the next mass shooting."

[–] Fedegenerate@lemmynsfw.com 39 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

Damn it's one of us. Always has been.

I just now noticed the insensitivity of using a meme with a gun to make this point.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 45 points 20 hours ago

Talking about how it impacted him personally. Very conservative.

[–] fluxion@lemmy.world 27 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Did he question his life decisions or worldview afterward, or immediately go back to not giving a single fuck about the people who died because it made his cult look bad?

[–] TheBenCommandments@infosec.pub 17 points 18 hours ago

I think we can all assume the answer to this. I’ve given up on being hopeful for positive change.

[–] BigMacHole@sopuli.xyz 137 points 21 hours ago

Thank GOD he was a MAGA! Otherwise this Attack on a Church would have been TERRORISM!

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 13 points 15 hours ago

Gosh, that's so weird. If this was someone they could claim was trans, they'd be crying about how xtianity is "under attack" from the "radical left".

[–] slaneesh_is_right@lemmy.org 33 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

Is that one of that antifa terrorists?

[–] grrgyle@slrpnk.net 4 points 6 hours ago

Maybe the real antifa were they maga who kept killing each other along the way

[–] SoloCritical@lemmy.world 8 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

No it’s just a republican

[–] MuskyMelon@lemmy.world 5 points 15 hours ago

So normal terrorist, nothing to see here.

[–] kylie_kraft@lemmy.world 14 points 17 hours ago

So MAGA is a terrorist group. I'm sure the EO is coming any day now.

[–] ExtremeDullard@piefed.social 78 points 23 hours ago (4 children)

So far, Republican leaders have said nothing.

That's surprising. Usually when conservatives intend to do jack shit about any situation, they offer a prayer with a contrived air of empathy on their gormless faces.

If they're not praying for something or other, it would indicate that they might want to do something useful instead for a change... But I'm not holding my breath.

[–] kofe@lemmy.world 31 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Trump has. He posted about how "they" are attacking Christians iirc (at first it was radical leftists, then he posted again with more ambiguous language, I think). Interesting, most Christians don't consider Mormons part of Christianity- and Kirks murderer was raised Mormon. Trump helped amplify fear mongering with that, too, so. Gee, I wonder why a Mormon church was targeted by a Trump supporter?

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 13 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago) (2 children)

Won’t be long till there is Christian denomination infighting going on in the MAGA world. A good chunk of them are all ready blaming Israel for Kirk’s death as well as Mormons. I always knew this is what would happen eventually since Christians hate other Christians almost as much as they hate gays.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 15 hours ago

The minute they squelch trans and gay rights, and bring back Jim Crow, they will be right back at each others' throats, casting the other groups out as heretics and "pagans" and "cult members", etc....there are approximately 45,000 denominations of xtianity - which one is the One True Xtianity?

[–] leadore@lemmy.world 6 points 15 hours ago

Yep. I've always said if/when they finally get their beloved Theocracy, there will immediately be massive sectarian violence.

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 19 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

I like that word.

gormless /ˈɡôrmləs/ adjectiveinformal•British English lacking sense or initiative; foolish. "a constantly grinning, rather gormless boy"

[–] Eldritch@piefed.world 10 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (1 children)

Gornless and gobsmacked nonce enablers

You know, there's probably a universe with a "Wallace and Gorm" show.

[–] Eldritch@piefed.world 3 points 20 hours ago

Next episode of Interdimensional cable

[–] Late2TheParty@lemmy.world 1 points 21 hours ago

LMMFAO! I wanna party with you

[–] Late2TheParty@lemmy.world 1 points 21 hours ago

Hahahahahah! 🤣

[–] chilldrivenspade@lemmy.world 12 points 22 hours ago

nah they’re stuck doing the mental gymnastics necessary to blame all liberals

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 2 points 18 hours ago

They are not praying for members of the LDS. They might pray for the shooter, though. After all, he is one of them.

[–] don@lemmy.ca 44 points 21 hours ago

The Right is the party of murder.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 9 points 16 hours ago
[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 6 points 15 hours ago

I willing to bet a six pack of craft beer he was Charlie Kirk and that's the reason.

[–] Red0ctober@lemmy.world 48 points 22 hours ago

Their deafening silence is all the more damning, they support this shit.

[–] radio@sh.itjust.works 11 points 17 hours ago

Incoming "it was one mentally ill dude, he doesn't represent us" defense. If they bother to cover it all.

[–] Kurious84@lemmings.world 5 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

The good news is when Trump tries to remain in power he will have both sides against him. He doesn't have the support he thinks he does. Even the morons who were fooled by him will wake up

[–] bizzle@lemmy.world 4 points 14 hours ago
[–] TheReturnOfPEB@reddthat.com 7 points 17 hours ago* (last edited 17 hours ago) (1 children)

at one point i thought that it was decided to focus on the victims because fuck giving free press to the terrorist.

that seems to have been completely abandoned.

[–] KairuByte@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 16 hours ago

I wholeheartedly agree, bar one fact. If that was still the case, conservatives and conservative media would continue to focus on any non conservative perp or conservative victims.

Neither one is good. And both have consequences.

Which one do we prefer? I don’t fucking know dude…

[–] LoafedBurrito@lemmy.world 4 points 17 hours ago

So Republicans are now labeled terrorists?!?

[–] ExtremeDullard@piefed.social 14 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

“Make Liberals Cry Again”

MLCA?

I can see why they went with Make America Great Again instead.

[–] madjo@feddit.nl 1 points 6 hours ago

it's not fun to stay at the MLCA...
