Uh-huh. So why did they buy it then?
devils advocate: to promote their own platform through it and to try to keep it as "open" as it is. In the end, they also profit from people running models locally or on a server, as long as it's their hardware
the skeptic in me: sooner or later, the models will only be available with a paid account, and all external connections to non-nvidia run services will be cut
I think they're going for a GitHub/Microsoft approach. Let people enjoy themselves in a nice environment and cut them off if something does not fit/satisfy. Then call it "rogue behavior" to keep the public in check.
