I don't think I would take that picture. It's kinda weird that you can just pull that up from your gallery, as if it's a side note. Do you often take candid shots of people having a rough time? Idk, that's weird to me
Yes. I take pictures of despair to show fellow Americans when they tell me this is the greatest country in the world. Liberals gasp that I would take pictures like this! Well newsflash, the USA is filled with misery, you just want to be shown the beautiful Hollywood propaganda. Fuck that. Take pictures of what hell this place is, what it does to people, how it treats it's vulnerable.
I can also post the picture of an elderly woman killed by a speeding driver. I like to pull that out when people tell me we can't make our streets safer.
Did you ask that person for consent for a picture? Or is someone experiencing the lowest state of their life journey just free game for public exhibition?
Did you speak with them, drop them a slice of pizza, a water, or a sandwich? Or just take a picture like they're a zoo animal to show people to win internet arguments?
This is the USA. I don't need consent to take pictures of people in public.
If they choose to sleep obviously in public I will happily take pictures, there are more discreet ways to sleep, no?

Zoo animals, if they decide to sleep blatantly in public spaces I will blatantly take pictures of them, ask them if they are ok and if I don't get a response call 311 (who will tell me there is nothing they can do)

Saying that they are "choosing" to sleep in public spaces, and calling them zoo animals is horrible.
There are 2 types of homeless individuals, the blatant ones that absolutely don't gaf and ones that are more discreet and try to hide from public view. I didn't call them zoo animals, the commenter before me did. We are all technically all animals though and the liberal government elites of California along with the liberals like the commenter I was responding to treat the homeless like zoo animals. Think about it: the liberals refuse to make any systematic change and need to continue the status quo and believe handing out food and needles will help the homeless. It's pure evil at this point, wake up!
You keep going on about liberals, are you okay? The alternatives are conservatives, who are objectively worse for all homeless people. Or, if you're a russian tankie trying to split the leftist vote, some candidate who will get 1.2% of the vote and never be able to enact policy.
FWIW I'm not American, but in Norway we use liberal policy towards this, and have no homeless crisis. Not either of your two types. We recognise people need help, and help them.
This isn't a partisan issue, it's a fundamental problem with a hypercapitalist society that disregards human life, and demonizes the wrong people.

Liberals in California defend the neo liberal economic policies of Reagan that cause the hyper capitalist society that disregards human life. The progressives demand the return to new deal policies of post WW2 era that created the great middle class only this time we want it applied to all not just the whites!
In USA it's not just liberals vs conservatives. Progressives like Bernie Sanders are actively getting chased out by corporate owned liberals. Hope this gives you some insights into why the Democrat party in USA is splintered.
Liberals are not who they say they are, they are part of the problem and use the 2 party system to force people to vote for them when they are just Republican lite (unless they are progressives like Bernie, Mamdani, or AOC)

The people need true help, they need housing and hope that their income will support them. Not just a fucking handout and a sandwich from some worthless liberal.
