- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

There are way too many people scared of guns on our side, the left, for this to ever happen. In reality, the more heavily armed MAGA who's culturally encouraged to own all kinds of firearms, and could openly train with them without being seen as gun nuts, will roll us over.
Biggest issue I see on here daily is that no one seems to take it serious enough. People seem to have already given up, and won't realize what's at stake here.
This attitude is too little too late, and we should have been encouraging gun ownership on the Left for the past 30 years to ensure deterrence.
The right has completely won not only the culture war, but have also gained influence from Christian fascism to resurge globally. Now you have more bible-thumping dipshits who welcome a Handmaids Tale level of control, with Taliban-like religious laws circumventing lifestyle freedoms such as LGBTQ rights.
They won't realize what's at stake here because they are all pathetic pacifists losers who we've allowed to have a voice for too long, and are unwilling to protect vulnerable people with promises of violent disproportionate responses.
It's almost like people forgot black & LGBTQ Civil Rights wasn't won with sunshine, rainbows and politely asking for equity.
This is why you will continue to read posts where someone is encouraging anyone else with a mental illness to commit violence for them, i.e. "Someone should do something about this" or "if only someone could (imply killing person here)" type shit.
I want to be scared of that, but if they're dumb enough to believe the things they do, im pretty confident we'll handle it.
Caveat is that I live in Texas, and left or right never meant shit for guns. We'll be there and we'll show up.
