It doesn’t have to be a gag per say, as the situation can occur when a skinwalker (native America folk creature) has its eyes on you and wants to eat you it will use your own family against you to have you leave the safety of your home to eat.

It's actually written "per se". It's Latin for "by or in itself; intrinsically".

Good catch. Thanks. I haven’t had to actively look at or read Latin in a long time so it’s always good to have someone catch my mistakes.
