  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Republicans really don't want to see JD Vance as the face of the party for the next three years and change.

I mean, HW got a term after Reagan...

JD becoming president isn't any kind of win, he'd have all the same goals as trump, he'd just be more competent at it. So more damage would be done.

The problem existed before trump, it will exist after him. If he dies and everyone pretends shit is magically normal again, we're fucked.

It's like how the Allies stopped trying to kill Hitler after a while. You don't cut the head off the snake when it keeps biting itself.

MAGAts love Trump specifically because of his swagger, bravado, and his cult of personality, which empowered him to do whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted.

JD Vance has zero appeal, and will not have the same diplomatic immunity that Trump had.

JD Vance has zero appeal,

He has more than HW did...

But more importantly, he doesn't come with as many built in opposition votes. Because prior iterations of the DNC made it all about trump personally.

Republicans had consistently lost all elections without Trump on the ballot. Maybe for the top brass of the republican party JD Vance is better, but for the base he's a no-one.

they have to wait until uh, jan 22 2026? i think for him to get two and a half terms without any legal wrangling

Damn. Hopes crushed today. Father time will come, as he comes for us all eventually.

I like how he used a golf picture. Like, he's not even pretending to be working.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

Too bad he doesn’t have a soul for JD Vance to suck

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 4 points 3 days ago

That's half-assed enough to make it likely that Trump did it.

[–] frezik@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Once again, he makes it worse than if he left it alone.

Learn from Lake Wobegon. Never miss an opportunity to keep your mouth shut.

A lesson this halfwit never learned

Par for the course.
