"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

Yes folks if there's no organic demand for this glorified party trick we CEOs will just manufacture it by shoving it down your throats

98% of our users use this feature every day!

like instagram did with reels

To be fair, Instagram Reels is very addicting, which is the same thing happening with AI now. The more people's throats they shove this new "feature" down, the more people will get hooked.

This polling data is pretty wild:

About 93% of corporate leaders and 80% of investors said they think AI will be net positive for society compared to just 58% of ordinary people, according to the poll by nonprofit Just Capital.

93% of corporate leaders and 80% of investors are psychopaths.

I'm honestly surprised the number of psychopath investors is that low...

That's wild, positive? If you include machine learning? Maybe. Net positive? Given the clear impacts to mental health and the environment? Yeah maybe not ..
