I'm not ruling out Carney being kidnapped over this

Jokes aside, our model of government doesn't really require the prime minister to function, or even cabinet ministers.

If the US really wanted to bone us from a government perspective, kidnapping King Charles and the current Governor General would actually be the most significant.

We would be unable to pass laws at that point until a new British monarch could be installed and appoint a new GG.

To be fair, it's not like Trump admin would have such intricate understanding of how Canadian political system works or even care for that matter.

It would be kinda funny though if he kidnapped Carney, we kept everything going without him anyways, and then we sent a sleeper crowd to storm and burn down the Whitehouse again.

I wouldn't really on that.

My model is they have some very smart and crooked people, but the guy at the top is insane and won't listen to anything with nuance.

Trump is just a front man for the whole show. He doesn't make any decisions unilaterally, he represents what the oligarchs want.

Not British monarch, Canadian monarch. They happen to be the same person at the moment and prior to now, but there is a constitutional process for changing our monarch and it doesn’t have to be linked at all to the British monarch. It’s difficult to achieve because of the level of support it requires but it’s at least technically possible.

Lol I just imagine a scenario of Trump capturing King Charles after hearing that the monarch is stamped on the back of Canadian and many Commonwealth coins.

But I think Royal Canadian Mint designers would be so fed up with Trump's BS at that point, that they'd make the design an unworn crown just to spite him.
