Lol, are there a lot of teachers who want to emigrate from New York and California to Oklahoma?

[–] xyzzy@lemmy.today 2 points 1 hour ago

As someone who's unfortunately spent a lot of time in Oklahoma, I'd rather a bullet take up short-term residence in my brain than move to that state.

I seriously doubt it. Looks like the teacher pay is one of the lowest in the nation, they put Trump bibles in classrooms, and their state superintendent seems like he cares most about showing up on trump’s radar. Looks like they’re ranked bottom 5 in the nation depending on which stats you look at.

Oklahoma always ranks near the bottom in test scores so I’m sure this will help out greatly with that.. just another glaring example that they want to control you and not better you

Backing "America first" means knowing and supporting the constitution right? Right?

“Think as I think,” said a man,

“Or you are abominably wicked;

You are a toad.”

And after I had thought of it,

I said, “I will, then, be a toad.”

Oklahoma: prove you put pedophiles before teaching kids

[–] myster0n@feddit.nl 15 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

Is it to prevent trump from becoming a teacher there?

[–] Tronn4@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

He's a pedo so in Oklahoma eyes he is over qualified

Sure but when do we get to watch porn in our office?!

That’s the only reason we came to this charming but godforsaken state! Porn! In the office!

[–] atticus88th@lemmy.world 21 points 10 hours ago (2 children)

The new requirement will effect -332 teachers... Wait what?!

[–] eodur@lemmy.world 16 points 9 hours ago

Yeah, I dunno why teachers would intentionally move to OK. In fact you can virtually guarantee the few that would probably do it for the abysmal politics.

[–] foggy@lemmy.world 9 points 9 hours ago

Lol maybe 332 teachers left Oklahoma for NY/CA this year?
